Junior Project Manager

Hybrid working

Location: Coleshill, Birmingham /Hybrid position

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 (Per Annum)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Project Manager to join of our well recognised financial services client.

The ideal candidate will provide project management and business analysis for medium to large projects and business change activities

Key responsibilities:

Project Management:

Liaise with recruitment agencies and other external stakeholders to attract and recruit new staff

  • Provide Project Management, as required, for medium - large sized projects
  • Manage own projects within agreed constraints i.e. time, cost and quality
  • Maintain a good working relationship with project vendors
  • Create, update and own project artefacts e.g. schedules, RAID logs in line with best practice
  • Manage changes to agreed project scope
  • Create project reports and deliver written and verbal status updates to project team and stakeholders
  • Manage and report on project risk and issues
  • Develop project business cases as required
  • Build, manage and report on project budgets, appropriately managing project cost risk
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with all functions and Senior Management as required
  • Manage vendors to deliver against agreed plans
  • Work with the business and the Product Owner and/or Business Sponsor to ensure adequate documentation of Business Requirements
  • Work with the Product Owner and vendors to prioritise and schedule new features and functionality
  • Work with the business and the Product Owner and/or Business Sponsor to ensure adequate End User Acceptance Testing
  • Work with the business and the Product Owner to co-ordinate and facilitate adequate training for the business in any new systems
  • Manage the handover of any new systems and processes into the business and ensure adequate documentation and proof of acceptance into business as usual

Business Analysis:

  • Working with the Product Owner elicit and document user, functional and non-functional requirements
  • Define and write User Stories, as required
  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions
  • Work closely with the Product Owner to ensure business requirements are traceable and testable
  • Working closely with the product owner to support the business during testing, ensuring that requirements are adequately tested against business acceptance criteria
  • Update, implement and maintain procedures
  • Co-ordinate, facilitate and manage workshops as required

Skills required:

  • Asset finance experience (Desirable)
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience (Desirable)
  • Strong interpersonal skills (Essential)
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and manage disputes
  • Ability to work with stakeholders across the business (from all functions and at all levels of seniority)
  • Passionate about change and knowledgeable about the change process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to plan and manage their own workload
  • Excellent planning & organisation skills
  • Good team player
  • Experience of working with third party vendors
  • Good understanding of the project lifecycle and project management methodologies
  • Good understanding of requirements elicitation and documentation tools and techniques
  • Good understanding of agile methodologies including SCRUM, User Story Creation, acceptance Criteria
  • Provide mentorship to junior members of the team as and when required
