Position: Technical Sales Engineer

We are looking to hire two Technical Sales Engineers, One that will be responsible for the Midlands Territory and one for South East Territory

We are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer in South East OR Midlands Territory to join our Account Management team to help us with our expansion plans in the United Kingdom. The role is sales and engineering-focused and target-driven. You will be responsible for securing new business and also maintaining an excellent level of customer service to current customers. The individual will be required to plan strategies and develop all key relationships to ensure a strong foundation for solution selling. Maintaining and promoting relationships with customer contacts who will be determining design opportunities and deal with existing business challenges.


  • Take ownership of assigned accounts
  • Develop relationships and be able to negotiate at all levels within the customer
  • Be visible on sight – frequent customer visits
  • Develop the business on assigned accounts to: Maximize Arrows share Maximize overall
  • profitability Maximise Arrow design in profile and technical sales
  • Manage all resources to grow the business with Field Application Engineers, Field Marketing, Asset,
  • Business Process Excellence (BPE), Assignees, customers, suppliers
  • Customer satisfaction

Key Tasks/Responsibilities


  • Keep an up to date account profile
  • Through fact-based analysis and in-depth customer knowledge work out account strategies and plans based on greatest opportunities for growth
  • Pro-actively promote Arrow’s top suppliers
  • Prioritise time on the largest growth opportunities within the account base
  • Communicate proactively and use all available resources to maximize the return and to ensure smooth operations in regards to speed, accuracy and cost effectiveness
  • Have a clear understanding of competition activity in the account base

Demand Creation

  • Drive agreed supplier initiatives and maximise Arrow design in content and technical services
  • Have a clear record of what development projects each customer has and what stage they are at
  • Co-ordinate both manufacturer support and Arrow FAE support appropriately to maximise new design opportunity for Arrow
  • Increase level of engagement in the account base through Arrow technical services

Supply Chain

  • Have a clear understanding of Arrow’s supply chain solutions
  • Manage an appropriate level of stock through buffer, forecast, backlog that is in line with customers turnover and Arrow’s stock turn expectation and at the same time ensure supply continuity for the customer
  • Have a clear understanding of customer priorities – stock turns, stock availability and be able to recommend supply chain solutions that will support customer objectives


Experience/ Skills /Knowledge

  • Strong selling skills and ability to influence at all levels within external customers
  • Industry knowledge; Preferably previous experience working in distribution/OEM
  • Technical selling skillset;
  • Customer-orientation and sympathy
  • Prospecting and presentation skills
  • Energy, creativity and focus
  • Analytical and planning skills
