Foster Panel Member Hampshire Fostering aim to be representative of the families we work with in Hampshire and are looking to recruit panel members with a variety of personal and professional experiences and a range of backgrounds including those who have care experience or have experience of foster care, education, health and public services. The role of the Fostering Panel is to support the provision of high quality and safe foster homes for our children through sound and competent recommendations regarding applicants' suitability to foster, in line with the Fostering Service Regulations 2011 England . Rated outstanding by Ofsted, Hampshire County Council is dedicated to making Hampshire an even better place for children and young people. As a panel member you will carefully consider the paperwork provided prior to the meeting via a secure online portal, as well as the Panel discussions. You will need to be comfortable forming and articulating a view in a formal meeting setting and able to read, process and analyse large amounts of complex information. We offer panel members the opportunity to observe a panel and the support of a buddy panel member alongside a handbook and panel overview. We provide access to training through the year including a one day panel workshop. Hampshire hold six panels a month across the county in Alton, Basingstoke, Havant, Swanwick (SO31 Fareham), Totton (New Forest) and Winchester. The majority of panels are held in person with virtual panels via MS Teams held as an exception. The renumeration for each half day panel attended is 72.03 including reading and preparation time. Reasonable travel expenses are payable. This post is subject to interview and an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service. Qualified Social Workers required within Older Adults Community, Mental Health, MASH & Physical Disabilities team 3-6 Month Contract Rate 38 Per hour (Umbrella Rate) Location: Will need SW's based around the whole of the county so we will try to match you with the nearest office to where you live. Hynrid working (1 day a week in the office / face to face visits) Hampshire have a backlog of assessments and require locums with skills in safeguarding, mental health, MASH and physical health as a priority to help reduce the backlog. We'd like to prioritise people who have Care Director (our case management system) if possible (not a deal breaker, just an ideal) . Skills and Experience Required 1. Statutory Assessment and Planning Expertise Demonstrated experience in undertaking Section 9 Care Act 2014 assessments, identifying eligible needs, and determining appropriate care and support provisions. Skilled in completing unplanned support plan reviews, ensuring responsive reassessment and timely adjustments to care packages in line with changes in need or risk. Proficient in risk assessment and safeguarding, applying legislative frameworks effectively across both mental health and physical disability cases. 2. Knowledge Across Client Groups Practical experience supporting adults with mental health needs, with working knowledge of the Care Programme Approach (CPA) and the interface between the Mental Health Act and the Care Act. Strong understanding of physical disability services, including long-term conditions, mobility and access needs, rehabilitation, and technology-enabled care solutions. Ability to manage complex, dual-diagnosis cases involving coexisting mental and physical health conditions, coordinating across agencies and specialisms. 3. Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Involvement Proven experience working within or alongside a MASH, demonstrating high-level skills in screening, prioritising, and triaging safeguarding referrals. Familiarity with multi-agency working and thresholds for adult safeguarding, with a track record of making sound, evidence-based decisions in time-sensitive situations. 4. Strengths-Based and Person-Centred Practice Committed to a strengths-based approach, working collaboratively with individuals, families, and communities to build on existing capabilities and informal support networks. Experienced in developing support plans that promote maximum independence, reduce reliance on formal care services, and avoid restrictive or institutional responses wherever possible. Skilled in creative problem-solving to achieve cost-effective, least restrictive outcomes that enhance well-being and autonomy. 5. Collaborative Team Working Proven ability to work collaboratively with permanent team members, contributing positively to team dynamics, sharing knowledge, and maintaining consistency of service delivery. Willingness to support the wider team by offering flexibility and ensuring continuity for service users during times of high demand or staff absence. 6. Technical and Administrative Competence Experience using the Care Director care management system is desirable but not essential; support and guidance can be provided for those new to the system. Strong IT literacy and experience with digital case management tools for recording assessments, managing workflows, and maintaining high standards of documentation. Excellent written communication skills with attention to clarity, accuracy, and legal defensibility in reports and case notes. 7. Professional and Personal Attribute s Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-pressure locum environment, managing a complex and often reactive caseload. Situated in a unique position on the shores of the Solent, the facilities at the Centre include a state-of-the-art climbing wall, the only indoor velodrome on the South coast, and a dry ski slope. It is a residential centre and includes a number of listed residential blocks used for school groups and bed and breakfast. There is also a popular campsite and a boat park. This role sits in a busy, experienced and proactive facilities management team that are pivotal in ensuring our customers have a safe, quality experience at Calshot. This role will support the delivery of a defined customer focused, effective, safe, clean and secure Facilities management services for Calshot Activities Centre. Main responsibilities Under direction, undertake a range of frontline facility tasks; to test and inspect building attributes that include Legionella and fire safety. Supporting and the setting up of corporate events, B&B's duties, in order to satisfy centre users requirements. Grounds maintenance Perform general site support tasks including basic repair tasks such as replacing light bulbs adjusting door furniture, minor repairs to buildings.
