For over 40 years now South Eastern Tools/Lynimar/MB Garage Services Ltd has provided top quality services to the garage industry in the South of England.
It all started in Isleworth West London in 1966. After many years working in garage equipment sales, George Player and his son Jim started out repairing and refurbishing trolley jacks and quickly recognised the need to expand the business into other areas of the industry.
Apart from supplying repair services to small garages in and around London we soon came to the attention of larger commercial sector customers such as district councils, bus and coach companies.
And so the South Eastern Tools expansion began.
We had the need to find larger premises and took a site under the arches in Vauxhall South London.
In order to accommodate the demand George was joined by his old RAF pal Ernie Baxter and things started to really take off.
In 1983 the company (South Eastern Tools Ltd) re-located to Alton in Hampshire.
In 1985 George decided to retire and Jim decided to concentrate on the on-site services with the formation of Lynimar Lift Services so South Eastern Tools was taken over by Andy Skinner who had been a former employee.
Lynimar again expanded and many more high profile companies joined the client list such as MOD, Arriva, London United Busways, Stagecoach and many more.
Lynimar and Ranger continued to prosper, and in 2005 Andy decided to approach Jim Player to rejoin the company to take over the repair and service side whilst still running his ‘Lynimar’ company incorporated into the South Eastern Tools name.
When the credit crunch hit in late 2008, Jim Player left South Eastern and moved his Lynimar company to Hayling Island, and shortly afterwards Andy Skinner merged South Eastern Tools and Ranger Products with a new name of Liftmaster UK Ltd. So after 42 years the name of South Eastern Tools disappeared.
Jim Player traded as Lynimar until late 2013 when the company was revamped and changed name to
MB GARAGE SERVICES LTD.
