Job Title: Estimator Civils/Groundworks Subcontractor. About The client: They're a well established Civil Engineering/Groundworks subcontractor based in Wakefield, Yorkshire with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. They are seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in pricing and securing new projects, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability. Responsibilities include: Preparing accurate cost estimates for civil engineering and groundworks packages Reviewing tender documentation and specifications Liaising with clients, suppliers, and contractors to obtain accurate pricing information Preparing and submitting tender returns Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options Assisting in handovers to the operations team Requirements: Previous experience as an Estimator within the civil engineering/groundworks sector Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes Excellent analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously Strong communication and negotiation skills.
