Role Purpose An experienced and ambitious town planner ready to take on a senior role with significant responsibility.This is a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of complex and major planning applications, shaping a borough known for its innovation, culture, and growth. Responsibilities In this key role, you will not only manage a challenging caseload but also act as a mentor to junior colleagues and an expert voice for the Council. Taking a lead role in managing a full range of Development Management casework, from pre-application advice through to major applications and appeals. Acting as the lead officer for the Planning Appeal function, with a special focus on representing the Council at Public Inquiries. Leading negotiations with developers on complex applications to secure financial and other community benefits through Section 106 legal agreements. Preparing and presenting high-level, complex reports to committees and other public forums. Providing mentorship, guidance, and support to junior members of the planning team to aid their professional development. Deputising for the Area Team Leader as required, contributing to the team's performance management and strategic direction. Requirement A post-graduate qualification in Town Planning and current (or eligible) membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). Significant experience working at a senior level within a Development Management team, preferably in an urban environment. A proven track record of successfully managing major, complex planning applications and leading on appeals. Demonstrable experience in negotiating S106 agreements to secure community benefits. The ability to mentor and motivate colleagues, along with excellent communication skills to effectively engage with developers, residents, and councillors. Extensive knowledge of current planning legislation, policies, and best practices.

Responsibilities : The Virtual School Officer will manage a caseload of around 35 Looked After Children cared for by The London Borough of Hillingdon. Our Virtual School Officers ensure they have the support in place to overcome barriers to their learning so that they achieve their full potential. They track and monitor their progress and attendance; arrange and chair Personal Education Planning meetings and agree targets and action plans to support their education, these are then written up by the Virtual School Officer into a concise report. Virtual School Officers will liaise closely with and support foster carers and residential home key workers, social workers, personal advisors and designated teachers/student support services in schools and colleges. Housing Assistant West London Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (5 days in office) Role Purpose To assist with the development and delivery of a tenancy and estate management service which achieves compliance with the terms of tenancy and lease conditions, builds effective relationships with residents, increases resident satisfaction and quality of life, gives people pride in our estates and improves value for money. Responsibilities Provide a high quality support service to the tenancy management teams, including housing officers and team managers in all aspects of housing management. This may include assisting the tenancy management teams with a range of housing management functions including estate inspections, progressing fire risk assessment recommendations, tenancy verification checks, ASB management, management of sheds, research, letter writing and filing. Support tenant and resident associations with administration, for example, photo copying. Operate a variety of recording and monitoring systems including computerised and manual appointment systems. Attend home visits, meetings, events and conferences as required. Some of these may be outside of normal working hours Give advice on tenancy change applications and ensure that the correct paperwork and supporting documentation is completed for assessment by the housing officer. Assist housing officers to manage the void and rehousing process including working with the void works team in property services to get the property into works and receive the property back once works are complete, carry out viewings and sign up new and transferring tenants. Housing Reviews Officer South East London 3 to 6 month ongoing contract 31.16 p/hr umbrella Closing Date: 07 May 2025 Requirements Experience dealing of making a range of homelessness decisions and decisions on part VI Experience performing s202 Reviews is a requirement to be considered Extensive experience of working with people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, in housing need and/or living in unsatisfactory housing. Experience of providing an excellent level of customer care and customer service in a comparable customer service environment. Experience of prioritising competing demands in a pressurised environment, recognising service priorities and managing a caseload within agreed targets. Experience of achieving performance targets, deadlines and meeting departmental objectives Experience of providing an effective advice service to members of the public Responsibilities Ensure the service carries out independent reviews of homeless decisions, suitability of offers of temporary accommodation and private sector offers to discharge duty, part VI offers of accommodation and part VI assessment reviews in a timely manner. Ensure the process minimises costs including expenditure on temporary accommodation and supports the efficient management of the service. Contribute to the achievement of Housing and Housing Needs service plan priorities and objectives and meet key targets.
