Unity Technical Artist / 3D Generalist - VR Contract Our Client I'm recruiting on behalf of an innovative design studio specialising in cutting-edge VR experiences. They create experimental immersive projects and push the boundaries of what's possible in virtual reality. The Opportunity My client is seeking a Unity Technical Artist / 3D Generalist for contract work on VR projects for Quest devices. This is sprint-based work with flexible scope depending on R&D outcomes - starting with 2-3 days initially with potential for extension based on project needs. What You'll Do Create and animate 3D characters for VR experiences Develop shaders, materials, and visual effects optimized for Quest Build custom Unity tools and workflows Collaborate closely with the development team Optimize content for real-time VR performance Work across the full 3D pipeline from modeling to implementation Essential Requirements Expert-level 3D character animation skills Strong Unity experience in VR/real-time environments Experience developing for Meta Quest platforms 3D generalist skills (modeling, texturing, rigging, animation) Proven ability to work collaboratively with developers VR development experience required Technical Skills Unity proficiency with Quest optimization knowledge Shader development (HLSL/ShaderGraph) 3D software expertise (Maya, Blender, etc.) Real-time rendering and performance optimization Version control systems Work Arrangement Preferred: In-studio (London-based) Alternative: Hybrid or fully remote Contract: Sprint-based, starting 2-3 days Scope: Flexible based on R&D findings To Apply Please send your portfolio showcasing: 3D character animation work Unity/VR projects Real-time technical art examples
