Fire Limited JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Fire Systems Service Engineer Reports To: Service Manager Responsible To: Company Director Job Overview: Responsible for installation, maintenance, and servicing of fire detection, protection, and alarm systems, including fault diagnosis. Ensure compliance with industry standards, manufacturer guidelines, and legislation. Deliver excellent customer service across commercial and industrial sites nationwide. Key Responsibilities: 1. Service & Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and testing of fire systems, emergency lighting, and equipment. 2. Fault Diagnosis & Repair: Identify and fix faults in fire systems, ensuring accurate documentation. 3. Installation & Commissioning: Install and commission systems to manufacturers' and industry standards. 4. Compliance & Standards: Ensure all work adheres to British Standards and fire safety regulations. 5. Customer Support: Provide technical advice, support, and training to clients as needed. 6. Communication: Maintain clear communication with clients, team, and office, reporting issues promptly. 7. Documentation: Complete service reports, logs, and other documents accurately and on time. 8. Health & Safety: Follow safety policies and ensure personal safety at all times. 9. Company Equipment: Maintain company equipment in good condition; report loss or damage immediately. 10. Emergency Call Outs: Attend call outs as required. Fire Limited JOB SPECIFICATION ESSENTIAL Qualifications & Experience: - Proven experience as a Fire Systems Engineer. - Strong knowledge of fire detection, protection, and alarm systems. - Familiarity with brands: Kentec, Gent, Apollo, Hochiki, Honeywell, Advanced. - Understanding of BS5839, BS5266, and fire safety regulations. Key Skills: - Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills. - Initiative to resolve issues clearly and effectively. - Attention to detail and commitment to compliance. - Professional appearance and client-facing skills. - Excellent communication with clients and staff. - Able to work independently or in a team. - Strong organisational and time management skills. Other Requirements: - Valid driving licence. - Willing to travel nationwide, including overnight stays. - Flexibility to work outside normal hours. DESIRABLE - Experience servicing fire extinguishers (BS5306). - FIA or equivalent certification. - NVQ Level 3 in Fire Alarm Systems or Electrical Engineering. - CSCS/ECS card.
