Windows 11 Deployment Engineer (Contract) Role: Windows 11 Deployment Engineer (Desktop/EUC) Location: Onsite in Somerset Rate: £150 - £200 per day DOE (Outside IR35) Duration: 3 months (likely extension) Start: ASAP The Opportunity We're looking for a Windows 11 Deployment Engineer to join an established team onsite in Somerset. You'll be responsible for deploying Windows 11 across a large user base, working to a clear runbook with full onboarding and support from the client.This is an Outside IR35 engagement offering a relaxed but professional working environment and a straightforward deployment process. Key Responsibilities Deploy Windows 11 to end-user devices using PXE boot (traditional/manual process). Follow a client-provided step-by-step runbook for upgrades. Schedule and coordinate with end users to arrange upgrade slots. Back up user data to network drives prior to reimaging. Join devices and accounts to Active Directory. Carry out light hardware tasks (SSD swaps, basic break/fix). Maintain clear communication with users and the wider IT team. Must-Have Skills & Experience Proven experience deploying Windows 11 (or 10) images via PXE boot in enterprise environments. Hands-on experience with hardware swaps, SSDs, and device troubleshooting . Active Directory admin skills (device joins, basic account management). Strong communication and professionalism with end users. Reliable, organised, and able to work independently onsite. Nice to Have Experience delivering large-scale Windows 10 ? 11 refresh projects . Familiarity with service desk processes for tracking and logging upgrades.
