Accounting Systems Manager - Finance Job description 37 hours per week The Council's Finance Department provides a range of effective, efficient and high quality professional services with support to Members, managers, staff, services, schools and a range of external partners in the delivery of the Council's objectives. This is an exciting role to maximise the value from the various systems used and managed by the Council's Finance Department. As the manager of the team you will deliver a customer focus, identifying opportunities for systems development, improved customer service and delivering a financial systems service fit for the future. You will have the drive and tenacity to challenge the status quo and implement change. You will become part of a team that will value your contribution to the services the Department delivers. This post is a key role within the Finance Team that will bring together the core financial, benefits and reporting systems to provide a high quality and effective financial systems service. The role will be demanding but rewarding as you work towards optimising the use of systems and the work of the team. You will be a qualified accountant with expertise in financial systems including implementing systems developments and systems administration. Social Work Assistant - Care Experience Children's Team Job description 37 hours per week Bridgend County Borough Council offers a great opportunity for you to further your social care career. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Social Work Assistant to join the Care Experienced Children Team who is as committed as we are in working towards and achieving positive outcomes for children and families. The Care Experienced Children's Team work in partnership with many agencies including South Wales Police, health, education and the fostering service in order to support families and young people in line with the Social Services & Well Being (Wales) Act 2014, along with safeguarding our most vulnerable children. The role will include, assisting in the provision of case management services, this will be through a combination of assessments and other practical interventions that assists with the day to day running of the service and achieves positive outcomes for children/young people and the families and carers of children who are looked after by the Local Authority. Since 2023, Bridgend has implemented the Signs of Safety practice model, you will be given specific training on how this has been implemented into our team. You will be provided with a robust induction, regular supervision and additional support and mentoring when required. Additionally, you will be able to further your career through development opportunities and there is a competitive pathway to progressing to the social work secondment.
