This is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in supporting post-16 learners, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) . About the Role As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide high-quality support to learners aged 16 and above, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals. You will work closely with teaching staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes student progress, confidence, and independence. This role also includes providing personal care support to learners where required, ensuring their wellbeing and dignity are always maintained. Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support to learners, including those with SEND aged 16+ Assist with lesson delivery, ensuring learners are able to access, understand, and engage with their studies Support learners with personal care needs in a respectful and professional manner Encourage independence, self-confidence, and active participation in the classroom Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support colleagues to foster a positive and inclusive environment Maintain accurate records of learner progress and contribute to ongoing assessment Requirements: Experience working with SEND learners aged 16+ , including those requiring personal care Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with learners and colleagues A caring, patient, and flexible approach Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion Desirable: Relevant qualification in learning support, SEND, or a related field Previous experience in a further education or post-16 setting Understanding of safeguarding principles and practices Why Work with Us?
