Drive designated routes to collect and dispose of gully waste from specified locations. Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine checks on the Gully Truck before and after each journey, ensuring that it is in proper working condition. Report any defects or issues promptly to the appropriate department for maintenance. Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload gully waste at designated disposal sites, following proper procedures to ensure environmental compliance and safety standards. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, and waste collected. Complete necessary paperwork and documentation as required by company procedures and regulatory agencies. Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and members of the public during waste collection activities. Address any inquiries or concerns promptly and courteously. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies. Stay updated on changes in legislation or regulations related to waste disposal and transportation. Qualifications and Skills: Valid Class 2 HGV licence Previous experience operating Gully Trucks or similar vehicles preferred but full training given. Excellent driving skills with a strong emphasis on safety and adherence to traffic laws. Good knowledge of road networks and local routes. Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues. Physical fitness and ability to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and maneuvering heavy equipment. Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation. Job Description In this role, you will work in tandem with an HGV Driver as part of a two-person team. Your primary responsibility will be operating a vacuum hose and jetting equipment to clear roadside drains, ensuring they remain unblocked. This job is physically demanding due to the frequent lifting of drain covers. Requirements Access to personal transportation, as the depot is not easily reachable via public transit. While prior drainage experience is beneficial, it is not a mandatory requirement. Shift Schedule Monday to Friday Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM Pay Rates Day Shift - 12.50 - 13.50 per hour Payment will be made on a PAYE basis, and there are enhanced rates and bonuses for hours worked outside of standard hours and for meeting specific performance targets.
