This criminal justice charity was set up in 2010 from a kitchen table. And has now grown to have multiple locations across London. This is a unique role working with Southwark residents who want to move into drug & alcohol support services as a paid career. Typically, the people you work with will already be involved within the field and might have been a ex substance misuse client themselves or might be already volunteering in some capacity and looking to develop it into a career and you will help them do this. The reasoning behind this project is that there is a shortage of treatment and recovery front line workers, so this project helps to solve that problem. Thie role is funded until March 2025 (it could extend, or the charity might well have other roles for you beyond this). The post is part time and might be either 22.5 or 30 hours per week (it would need to be weekdays between 9 5). Their office is in Kennington (10 min walk from the tube or Imperial War Museum). You will be split between their office and outreach locations within Southwark (there might be the odd day / half day from as well, but they can t provide set days on this). So, what does a typical day look like? Reaching out to organisations within the drug & alcohol field and talking to potential participants about the opportunity Delivery IAG sessions which might last around an hour and seeing 2 -3 people in a day. A typical IAG session could be to direct people towards courses such as mental health first aid, IAG 2, safeguarding or money management. You will also be able to deliver Skills Accelerator sessions which focus on managing wellbeing, motivation, confidence building and general life skills around goal setting. The salary range is £25,000 - £29,000 per annum (depending upon experience). You will have experience of working within a similar role such as Careers Advisor, Employment Advisor, Probation Officer, Resettlement Worker, Drug & Alcohol Support Worker or similar. Please apply via this advert we aim to respond to everyone, but if for any reason you have not had a response (or have had a response and want further feedback), please do either email our Hello email address (details on the contact us page on the Red 5 People website) and ask for James who is leading on this role.
