The Role As a Maintenance Technician, you ll play a vital role in keeping critical assets in top condition. Your work will cover the full spectrum of mechanical and electrical maintenance on heavy-duty machinery, specialist vehicles, and associated systems. Key responsibilities include: Performing planned inspections, servicing, and overhauls on large mechanical and electrical systems. Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on braking, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems. Replacing and installing components such as motors, actuators, switchgear, and control panels. Following technical documentation and schematics to complete maintenance to a high standard. Completing condition checks, ensuring all work meets safety, compliance, and quality standards. Maintaining accurate records and working collaboratively within a skilled engineering team. This role operates on a 4 on 4 off pattern working 12 hours shifts, with regular overtime available. About You This is a great opportunity for individuals with experience in heavy engineering or vehicle environments, such as HGVs, plant machinery, aerospace, industrial maintenance, or comparable sectors. You will need: Qualification in either mechanical or electrical engineering (Degree, C&G, HND or HNC qualifications). Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Proven experience maintaining or overhauling heavy equipment or vehicles. A reliable, safety-focused mindset with excellent problem-solving skills. Engine Test Technician The Opportunity Are you an experienced and skilled technician with a passion for automotive testing? Join the innovative team at E-ppl as a Engine Test Technician. In this role, you will be a key part of our customers state-of-the-art facility, responsible for the preparation, instrumentation, and installation of Units Under Test (UUTs) and delivering critical test results to our engineering customers. This position requires a detailed understanding of rig preparation, UUT installation, and testing requirements. You will need to be flexible and capable of supporting different areas within the team based on project needs and workload. Key Responsibilities Prepare and instrument UUTs for various testing requirements. Conduct tests in a safe and repeatable manner, operating under both manual and automated conditions. Operate data acquisition systems and measurement equipment with a high level of accuracy. Perform servicing and repairs on UUTs as needed. Analyse and report on test results, identifying and helping to define root cause issues. Maintain a safe working environment in line with all company policies and procedures. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the facility. Skills, and Experience An indentured apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 vocational qualification in Mechanical or Motor Vehicle Engineering, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant technical experience. Computer literacy, including competency with Microsoft Office. Excellent knowledge of motor vehicle technology, with an up-to-date understanding of new vehicle developments, particularly electronics and braking systems. Strong practical skills and good manual dexterity. The ability to follow written and spoken instructions and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers. A strong ability to work quickly and with great attention to detail. Experience in operating a modern, automated test cell and the ability to diagnose test cell faults. Strong knowledge and experience of working on prototype braking systems. Experience with test cell instrumentation and external measurement devices. An understanding of quality standards and their importance in a testing environment.
