Our client has an opportunity for a Configuration Manager to join them on a contract basis. You will support CM tools user guides production, CM tools improvement and CM tools new releases training. You work closely with project, product and service teams while being part of the CADM team. You are the 1st line of support and training for the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool /Configuration Management Database (CMDB) users. Role : Configuration Manager Location: Portsmouth - minimum 3 days onsite with potential for more, depending on project needs Hours: 35 per week Hourly Rate : 41 per hour via Umbrella, inside Ir35 Clearance : BPSS to start, SC to follow. UKI's due to project What you'll be doing: You are responsible for performing CM activities (identification, control and planning, change, status accounting, audit). You are responsible for recording, controlling, maintaining and distributing the controlled data. You are responsible for providing reports to the CADM Team Lead and/or the project, product or service teams. You work in a shared workload environment, and you specifically support 1 project/product or more as the CADM focal point supported by CADM team members. You are responsible, jointly with the rest of the CADM team to maintain the PLM/CMDB in a fit state. You may be required to manage data in more than 1 environment. Ability to work autonomously, as well as be a team player within the greater functional team, efficiently and methodically with good organisational and interpersonal skills is essential. Good communication/teamwork with all internal stakeholders is essential. You will correspond with your nominated counterparts in the customer and suppliers, recording external documentation into the CMDB and sending internal documentation to external stakeholders. You support all CM activities facing external stakeholder, providing evidence and supporting any related request. You ensure CM compliance by contributing to project level activities with internal and external stakeholders. Requirements: Essential Digitally Literate and proficient with MS Office Tools Previous experience of file/data management tools (MS Office, PDF editor, FTP, Nero, etc.). Full Configuration Management knowledge (Configuration Identification, Configuration Structures (Assembly / Product etc), Baseline Management, Change Management, Status Accounting, Auditing). Previous experience of Product Data Management tools (Windchill, Teamcenter, Aras Minerva, etc.) required Understanding of project, product lifecycle highly desirable. Exposure to APQP, CMII would be an asset Experience setting up the Configuration processes on new project highly desirable. Required qualification level Good standard of education, Degree, HNC, Diploma, NVQ Level 5 or higher. Oral & written English Language essential. The role requires SC and eligibility to handle ITAR. Desirable CM II or equivalent qualification desirable. European languages advantageous.
