Carmichael UK is working with a Tier 1 contractor to recruit an experienced Sub Agent for a major highways infrastructure project in Gloucestershire . This is a key role for someone with a strong background in earthworks and drainage , who can lead delivery teams, ensure programme adherence, and drive high standards on site. Role Overview: As Sub Agent, you'll take ownership of key sections of work, overseeing both direct delivery and subcontract operations. You ll ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with the programme. Key Responsibilities: Planning and managing daily delivery of earthworks and drainage packages Supervising engineers, foremen, and subcontractors on site Producing and reviewing look-ahead programmes Ensuring works are delivered to spec, on time, and to the highest safety standards Managing permits, method statements, and ITPs Liaising with the Section Engineer and Project Manager to update progress and resolve issues Requirements: Experience as a Sub Agent or Senior Engineer on major civils/highways projects Strong technical knowledge of earthworks and drainage Proficient with temporary works, construction planning, and team management CSCS, SMSTS/SSSTS essential Excellent organisational and communication skills Able to work under pressure and lead site teams effectively
