Full-Time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Primary School, North Birmingham Contract Type: Long-Term, Full-Time Location: North Birmingham Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in North Birmingham to recruit a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HLTA to contribute to a vibrant school community, bringing creativity, initiative, and a passion for supporting children's learning. Please note: Sponsorship and visa support are not available for this role. Applicants must have recent UK-based school experience and hold relevant HLTA qualifications. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver lessons in the absence of the class teacher Provide classroom support across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2 Lead targeted 1:1 and small group interventions Support pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) Assist with phonics, literacy, numeracy, and guided reading Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support learning outcomes Contribute to behaviour management and pupil well-being Candidate Requirements: HLTA status or equivalent Level 4/5 qualification Recent experience in UK primary school settings Strong understanding of the National Curriculum across the primary school key stages Confident in delivering lessons independently Adaptable, proactive, and passionate about working with children Experience across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 is preferred Willingness to support pupils with additional needs and personal care if required What We Offer: Competitive rates of pay DOE Access to free CPD and training via our learning portal Ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant Opportunities to develop your career and gain experience in a variety of school settings Safeguarding: All applicants will be subject to two satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check in line with our safeguarding procedures.
