Machine Shop Inspector Annual Salary: 32,000- 33,000 Location: Gateshead Job Type: Full-time We are seeking a Machine Shop Inspector to join our client's team. This role is ideal for a time-served machinist with extensive experience in inspection and proficiency in using calibration equipment. Familiarity with operating a Romer arm is highly desirable. Day-to-day of the role: Conduct thorough inspections of machined parts and products to ensure quality and compliance with specifications. Utilise calibration equipment to measure and verify the dimensions and alignment of parts. Operate Romer arm for precise measurement and quality control, if capable. Collaborate with machining teams to discuss and resolve quality issues. Maintain accurate records of inspections and report findings to the relevant departments. Required Skills & Qualifications: Must be a time-served machinist with substantial experience in a similar role. Proven experience as an inspector in a machine shop environment. Proficient in using calibration equipment. Ideally, able to operate a Romer arm. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Benefits: Additional weekly skills payment if able to demonstrate capability in performing a full range of duties. Overtime rates: 1.3 times the normal rate on Fridays and 1.5 times on Saturdays.
