Commutable from: Coventry, Nuneaton, Leicester, Rugby, Daventry. The Role Ideally you will be a highly capable and technically proficient Manufacturing Manager to oversee and optimise their CNC machining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production workflows, driving process improvements, and ensuring adherence to rigorous quality and safety standards. This role requires an analytical thinker with direct experience in CNC manufacturing and a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a high-precision environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate all aspects of CNC machining operations, including multi-axis milling, turning, and EDM processes. Develop and implement production schedules aligned with customer demand and capacity planning. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and other relevant quality management systems. Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to resolve technical issues and optimise manufacturability. Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Manage and mentor a team of machinists, technicians, and production supervisors, fostering a culture of accountability and technical excellence. Oversee capital equipment procurement, maintenance schedules, and tooling strategies to support operational efficiency. The Person Ideally you will hold a qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline and proven experience in the precision engineering sector. Key experience: In-depth knowledge of CNC machining including milling, turning processes and associated tooling considerations. Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), material properties, and machining dynamics. Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and production planning software. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex manufacturing projects. Proven experience engaging and supporting customers directly as a technical interface.
