Commercial Administrator Location: Wakefield (Hybrid Working)Contract Term: 12-Month Fixed Term ContractCompetitive Salary + Flexible Benefits Freedom's Network Services team have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Administrator to join our delivery team in Wakefield on a 12-month fixed term contract. This hybrid role supports the EHV Substation Installation and EHV Overhead Lines projects, working closely with Project Managers and the Operations Director to ensure smooth commercial operations across multiple contracts. You'll play a key role in managing financial processes, supporting procurement activities, and maintaining accurate records to help deliver high-quality infrastructure projects. Some of the key deliverables in this role will include: Creating and managing new projects within Freedom's financial system. Budget management and monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs). Preparing and presenting monthly applications to clients. Supporting the commercial and financial month-end position. Raising purchase orders and managing procurement for long-lead items. Assisting with general administrative duties and internal/external communications. Supporting the Freedom Works Management System and other IT platforms. Post-audit of commercially completed works. Engaging with delivery team managers on subcontractor and franchisee management. What we're looking for: We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual with strong commercial and administrative skills. Ideally, you'll have: Understanding of the CIS scheme and Reverse Charge VAT (desirable). Strong character and ability to work well within a team. Good IT literacy and numeracy skills. Previous experience in finance administration (e.g. payroll, accounts payable, credit control, finance assistant) or purchasing/procurement. Experience dealing with high volumes of invoicing. WSP's T&D team delivers electrical power projects at transmission and distribution voltage levels. This role is to project manage pre-construction and construction activities (from design to energisation) for large-scale high voltage infrastructure and grid connections at voltage levels normally between 33kV and 400kV. Our projects would include feasibility, detailed design, procurement, construction, test and commissioning on existing or new substations and associated infrastructure. What will you do: Develop EHV (33kV up to and including 132kV) projects initial functional requirement into compliant cost-effective engineering solutions. Project Manage the development and delivery of EHV Cable projects (33kV up to and including 132kV) to time, cost, safety and quality. Interface with customers as well as internal and external resources to develop and deliver EHV Cable projects. Undertake the role of CDM Designer and/or Principal Designer for developed EHV Cable projects. Effectively communicate with internal engineering and industrial resource. Coordinate external service providers and administer commercial. Visit sites to assess project requirements, meet with project team/contractors, monitor work progress, safety audits, discuss engineering difficulties, etc. What we will be looking for you to demonstrate Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering. Experience managing medium-large scale EHV Cable projects (33kV up to and including 132kV) throughout the full project lifecycle from initiation, specification and design, tendering, construction, energisation through to project closure. A good understanding of electrical distribution plant items such as Switchgear, Power Transformers and Overhead lines. Knowledge of applicable engineering standards. Excellent understanding of the H&S and CDM requirements. An ability to undertake the role of 'Designer' and 'Principal Designer' under the CDM regulations.
