We now have an exciting opportunity for a System Administrator to join the Spacecraft Control Centre Support Team in the Chippenham area, Wiltshire, reporting to the Head of SCOF Engineering. The Spacecraft Control & Operations Facility (SCOF) comprises all Ground Equipment, Computers & Software and connectivity across multiple sites required to effect Command and Control of the SKYNET Constellation of spacecraft. At the core of the SCOF is the Spacecraft Control Centre, also distributed across multiple sites, which comprises the main computer systems which host the main C2 Software applications and provide the operator workstations. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM Sys Admin expert for the installation of the SKYNET 6A Spacecraft Control Centre and computer systems across the SCOF network, in order to bring it into service Perform general computer configuration and maintenance activities including equipment swap-out, reconfiguration and restoration of capability. Use of network skills to ensure SCC works well with existing SCOF equipment and networks. CISCO CCNP Enterprise certification is an advantage on appointment. Assist SCOF Eng team in investigation and rectification SCOF system problems raised through internal tracking processes. Be Lead SCC Engineer (SK6A) for development of roll out plans for deployment of system upgrades, enhancements, including software patches and fixes. Development and implementation (in a specific test environment) of robust test procedures and scripts to manage system changes, fixes, and supplier delivered upgrades prior to operational deployment. ABOUT YOU Experience of using UNIX / LINUX is essential for this role CISCO CCNP or CCNA is desirable Experience working in a System Administration role Experience managing a CISCO Network role Experience of supporting high availability systems, ideally with a focus on Linux based hardware and software Good knowledge of IP networking and familiarity with Cisco networking devices HOW WE CAN SUPPORT YOU Many of our staff work flexibly in many different ways, including part-time. I am looking for an AIT Technician to join my fantastic aerospace client based in Portsmouth. AIT Technician is responsible for responsible for the Assembly, Integration and Test of Spacecraft Payloads and active antennas Role: AIT Technician Pay 21 - 25 per hour via umbrella (plus shift allowance when on shifts) Contract: 37 Hours a week, due to project shift and weekend work would be required Location: Portsmouth Main activities of role: - Comply with production area Health and Safety requirements and practices, including handling of hazardous substances iaw COSHH requirements Mechanical integration - of Payload equipment's, Connectivity items (coaxial cables and waveguide), Test instrumentation (thermocouples, heater circuits and accelerometers), DC harness (connector mating and de-mating), MLI (templating, tailoring and fitting), Structural (inserts, riv-nuts, panel repairs) and wiring activities. All achieved via Interpreting technical documentation (schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, 2D and 3D General Assembly Drawings, technical notes and integration procedures) Electrical test - performing automated test sequences using a Payload Test System, manual RF measurements of payload equipment and sub systems and Electrical integration. All achieved via interpretation of test procedures and schematics. Test performance - checking payload equipment performance against parameters detailed in test procedures and review results for non-conformances. Workspace standard are maintained; 5S policy, process confirmation, tool control Contribute to team performance activities including; Kaizen and SQCDP Ensuring correct completion of production works orders for all activities performed Support movement and lifting operations using overhead crane and other MGSE (Mechanical Ground Support Equipment) REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: HNC or HND in an engineering production or maintenance field Apprenticeship in Aerospace/Space or other high quality production or maintenance field Experience in a production environment related to mechanical assembly or electrical/RF test Strong Electrical/RF test measurement experience Utilisation of automated test systems; including ATE Test Hardware & Software development COTS digital test equipment experience Problem solving aptitudes Clear and confident communication with team Good time management Delivering feedback - positive and constructive to local team Understand technical documents, drawings, procedures, etc. Experience of procedure / process control Work place health and safety awareness Flexibility to adapt to different working patterns, including ability to work off-site (UK and abroad).
