Our Client is looking for a proactive and detail-focused Technical Research Analyst to join it's expanding ad well established Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) firm on the outskirts of Birmingham centre.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across technical analysis, financial planning, and compliance support-perfect for someone keen to grow into a professional role in the wealth management or advisory space.

What You'll Do:

  • Be the go-to technical support for advisers, sales support team and compliance function.
  • Prepare detailed Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and chargeable event gain calculations.
  • Support complex pension income and lifetime allowance assessments.
  • Build and maintain cashflow modelling reports (e.g. using Voyant) to support financial planning.
  • Gather, verify and analyse client data to support the advice process.
  • Liaise with providers and platforms for valuations, quotes, and information.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant client records using Intelligent Office.
  • Ensure all tasks meet FCA compliance standards and service level agreements.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, documentation, and client outcomes.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience in a technical or administrative role within an IFA, wealth management, or financial planning environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of pensions, ISAs, bonds, and other financial products.
  • Understanding of FCA regulatory standards and compliance procedures.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Intelligent Office, Voyant, or Dynamic Planner.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and time management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn and grow.

Desirable (But Not Essential):

  • Certificate in Financial Services or working towards the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent).
  • Experience using cashflow modelling software.
