Estimator (Construction)

Job Title: Estimator Civils/Groundworks Subcontractor.

About The client:
They're a well established Civil Engineering/Groundworks subcontractor based in Wakefield, Yorkshire with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.

They are seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in pricing and securing new projects, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing accurate cost estimates for civil engineering and groundworks packages

• Reviewing tender documentation and specifications

• Liaising with clients, suppliers, and contractors to obtain accurate pricing information

• Preparing and submitting tender returns

• Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options

• Assisting in handovers to the operations team

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an Estimator within the civil engineering/groundworks sector

• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes

• Excellent analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail

• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office

• Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously

• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
