Job Description

Are you an experienced CMM Inspector seeking a fresh challenge in a high-tech engineering environment? We're recruiting on behalf of a leading precision engineering business that supplies critical industries including aerospace, defence, and nuclear.

The Role

As a CMM Inspector, you'll be responsible for carrying out inspections at multiple stages of the machining process - including first-off, final inspection, and FAIR checks - ensuring customer requirements are fully met.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Performing accurate inspections using CMM software (ideally PC-DMIS)
  • Writing inspection programmes from 2D drawings and 3D models
  • Providing feedback to machine operators on product non-conformities
  • Supporting supervisors with technical queries and highlighting training needs
  • Driving continuous improvement within inspection and quality processes

What We're Looking For

  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-focused approach
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings & 3D models
  • Skilled in CMM software (PC-DMIS preferred, others considered)
  • Solid engineering background with knowledge of quality management systems (QMS)
  • Understanding of ISO9001 requirements (advantageous)
  • Familiarity with inspection tools, reports, and manufacturing techniques
  • Experience in CNC machining (preferred)
  • IT literate (Excel & PowerPoint essential)
  • Flexibility to work additional hours if required
