Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Salary: £38,000 £42,000 p.a
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Verus Recruitment is pleased to partner with a highly respected regional accountancy practice seeking an Audit Senior for their Sheffield office.

This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base, including charities, owner-managed businesses, large limited companies, and subsidiaries of overseas groups. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support audit assignments, including planning, conducting fieldwork, and completing audits for a variety of clients.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, reviewing their work and providing guidance to enhance their technical and professional skills.
  • Prepare financial accounts and tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Utilise advanced software tools such as CCH ProAudit and Digita to streamline the audit process.
  • Ensure compliance with internal audit methodologies and external regulatory standards.
  • Build and maintain lasting client relationships, providing insights that contribute to their long-term success.
Candidate Requirements:
  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with hands-on audit experience from a medium or large firm.
  • Solid background in preparing statutory financial accounts and corporate tax returns.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and clear communication with clients.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including supervising and mentoring junior staff.
  • Attention to detail and professional scepticism to conduct thorough and responsible audits.
