Applications Engineer

Applications Engineer / Internal Sales Engineer required for a distributor of fluid handling and related products in Peterborough.

The successful Applications Engineer / Internal Sales Engineer will be responsible for providing application and technical support for a variety of pump systems (such as centrifugal pumps, self-priming pumps, and submersible pumps) while assisting sales, conducting site visits, and maintaining clear communication with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

The successful Applications Engineer / Internal Sales Engineer must have a technical understanding of pump systems, a strong commercial focus, and the willingness to support customers through occasional on-site visits.

Role

• Deliver technical guidance and application support for pump systems across a variety of industries.
• Create system designs, select suitable equipment, and prepare supporting technical documentation.
• Partner with the sales team to provide engineering insight and practical solutions for customer needs.
• Carry out site visits for commissioning, fault diagnosis, and training with clients, suppliers, and internal departments.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Applications Engineer, Internal Sales Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, Product Support Engineer, Proposals Engineer, Project Manager, Solutions Engineer, or similar.
• Experience within the water / wastewater industry.
• Experience in solution selling within the pump industry, specifically with self-priming pumps.
• An engineering qualification of some sort would be beneficial, ideally a Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Must be commutable to Peterborough.
• Willingness to travel across the UK if needed.
• Full UK driving license.
