Job Description

We are working with a local authority to appoint an experienced Parenting Practitioner to join their Children & Families service on a temporary basis in the Vale of Glamorgan area.

The Role:

  • Deliver positive parenting support and programmes to parents/carers.
  • Manage a caseload of targeted 1:1 interventions, underpinned by thorough assessments and family plans.
  • Facilitate parenting groups alongside colleagues and partner agencies.
  • Work closely with external agencies to improve outcomes for children, young people, and families.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and case notes in line with policy.
  • Flexible working required, including some evenings and weekends.

About You:

  • Background in family support, parenting interventions, or similar front line practice.
  • Confident in group facilitation and 1:1 work with families.
  • Skilled in assessments, case management, and partnership working.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, child development, and parenting support approaches (Motivational Interviewing desirable).
