Disrepair Surveyor - Barking - 50,000 (Negotiable, Permanent)

We are looking for an experienced Disrepair Surveyor to join a respected social housing provider in Barking. This is a permanent role offering around 50,000 per year (negotiable depending on experience).

The successful candidate must be RICS (or CIOB) qualified with a strong background in social housing disrepair cases. You will take responsibility for inspections, schedules of disrepair, technical reporting, and expert witness work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out detailed inspections of properties and diagnosing disrepair issues

  • Preparing schedules of disrepair and recommending remedial works

  • Producing expert witness reports in line with Part 35 of Civil Procedure Rules

  • Advising landlords, tenants and legal representatives on disrepair matters

  • Attending site meetings, joint inspections, and court when required

  • Supporting housing teams on damp, mould, and structural cases

  • Keeping up to date with housing legislation and best practice

Requirements:

  • RICS or CIOB qualified (RICS preferred)

  • Proven social housing disrepair experience

  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, landlord and tenant law, and building regulations

  • Experience acting as an expert witness and producing Part 35 compliant reports

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
