Street works operative

Pay Rate: £13.70 - £15.70 per hour (DOE)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Operative to join a busy highways and street lighting team. This varied role is perfect for someone with experience in street lighting or highways maintenance who enjoys hands-on work, teamwork, and delivering essential public services.

• Assist the HGV driver with day-to-day operations.
• Support routine maintenance activities on highways and street lighting infrastructure.
• Conduct visual inspections of lighting columns to identify potential issues.
• Clean and maintain signs, bollards, and other street furniture.
• Work safely and efficiently, following all health and safety protocols.

• Previous experience in street lighting or highways maintenance is desirable.
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to undertake manual work.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.

• G39 ticket and electrical qualifications.
• Manual Handling certification.
• First Aid training.

• Competitive pay: £13.70 - £15.70 per hour (based on experience).
• Regular daytime hours, Monday to Friday (7:30am-4:00pm).
