Location: Doncaster

Service Area: Children's Residential Homes

Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time (21 hours/week)

Salary: Grade 7 - £27,259 to £29,955 (pro rata)

Typical Earnings: £29,817 - £32,419 (including enhancements)

Enhancements:

  • Sleep-in rate: £36.08
  • Night enhancement: Time and a third after 10pm
  • Weekend enhancement: Time and a half
  • Inclusive allowance of 17.5% for unsocial hours
  • Overtime over 37 hours paid at time and a quarter

We're looking for dedicated individuals to join our team in Doncaster's Children's Residential Homes as Waking Night Support Workers. You'll play a vital role in creating a warm, caring, and secure environment for children and young people with disabilities and complex care needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide discreet overnight supervision and ensure the safety and wellbeing of children
  • Carry out general housekeeping tasks (e.g. laundry, cleaning, ironing)
  • Complete administrative duties including updating children's files and shift records
  • Communicate effectively using written, verbal, and digital tools
  • Respond to incidents, liaise with external agencies if needed (e.g. Police, Social Care)
  • Support the emotional and physical needs of children and young people
  • Cover shifts for colleagues during leave or training
  • Participate in training including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention
  • Complete QCF Level 3 within two years (mandatory requirement)
