We are looking for a passionate and imaginative Art Teacher for a specialist SEN school supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs, including ASD.
This is a unique opportunity to use the power of creativity to engage, inspire and transform learning for students who thrive on practical and expressive subjects.
Art Teacher Role:
Plan and deliver creative, inclusive Art lessons tailored to individual needs and abilities
Use a variety of materials, techniques, and sensory resources to engage all learners
Create a safe, supportive environment where students feel confident to express themselves
Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider team to ensure holistic support
Contribute to students' personal development, confidence, and self-esteem through art
Maintain a well-organised, visually stimulating classroom and regularly showcase student work
Art Teacher Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable
A creative and flexible approach to teaching and learning
Ability to differentiate lessons and engage learners with varied and complex needs
Strong communication, empathy, and behaviour management skills
A team player with a nurturing, resilient attitude
