An Exciting Opportunity to Inspire the Next Generation

Academics Bristol is seeking a talented and inspirational Teacher of English on a part-time, fixed-term basis. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering outstanding English lessons and supporting learners aged 16-19 as they progress towards their future goals, studying a range of vocational courses and A Levels, or resitting GCSE English and Maths in line with DfE funding.

Part-Time Teacher of English (0.4 FTE)

Location: Bristol (BS5)

Salary: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS as appropriate)

Contract: 1 Year Fixed-Term Contract

Working Pattern: Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday, Thursday morning

As a Teacher of English, you will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in GCSE English and Functional Skills (Level 1 and 2).
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their best, regardless of background or ability.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, supporting enrichment and progression opportunities.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a curriculum that promotes success and independence.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS or equivalent).
  • A subject expert in GCSE English and Functional Skills English.
  • Experienced in delivering high-quality lessons across relevant key stages.
  • Able to support students from a wide range of backgrounds, including SEND, pupil premium, and high-attaining learners.
