Vertical Borer Machinist

Proactive Personnel are currently recruiting for a skilled Vertical Borer to join one of our clients in Bury.

We need the candidate to have a strong mechanical knowledge and that can work manual vertical borer machines . This role requires precision and attention to detail, as you will be responsible for fabricating components and ensuring they meet the required specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate vertical boring machines to produce high-quality components
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy in fabrication
• Perform milling operations as necessary, ensuring adherence to safety protocols
• Conduct materials handling and assembly tasks as part of the production process
• Use hand tools effectively for adjustments and repairs on machinery
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
• Collaborate with team members to improve production efficiency and quality

Experience

• Proven experience in fabrication, machining, or a related field
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLC) is desirable
• Proficient in SolidWorks, CAD, and basic mathematical calculations
• Previous warehouse experience is an asset, particularly in materials handling and assembly tasks
• Be able to operate manual machines such as vertical borer, lathes, mills and grinders to machine precision parts
• Knowledge of welding techniques is beneficial but not essential
