We are working with a charity in the Newport area to find Support Assistants to cover various shifts within a supported housing setting.
What will you get?
- Full time salary of up to 26,061 (pro-rata for part time).
- This includes 60 for sleep-in shift allowance.
- 47 hours per week.
- All shifts are days or nights, with options for sleep-ins.
- Either 12 hours (4 per week) or 24 hour shifts (2 per week)
- Rolling rota that includes weekdays and weekends.
- There are full and part time options.
What will you do?
- Support young people (16 to 24 years old) who have experienced homelessness.
- This not a Care job, there is no personal care involved.
- Provide emotional and practical support.
- Advice and guidance.
- Follow the support plans set out by the Support Worker.
- Assist with setting up benefits and finances.
What do we need?
- You will need some experience working with this age group.
- Knowledge of housing or homelessness.
- Able to build trust, while remaining professional.
- The ability to deal with challenging situations and behaviours.
- Keep a cool head in a crisis.
- Good with record keeping and reporting/recording incidents.
