Toolroom Supervisor Location - Smethwick We are working with a forward-thinking company at the forefront of innovation in manufacturing. Our client has recently built a brand-new Innovation Centre that is equipped to support cutting-edge tooling jigs and fixture solutions, and are looking for a highly skilled Toolroom Supervisor to lead and optimize operations. Responsibilities: Manage Toolroom staff to high standards ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Develop and manage work routing, planning, and material procurement. Coordinate heat treatment, coatings, and secondary processes. Monitor, Control, and continuously improve toolroom manufacturing processes. Establish documentation around standard operating procedures and enforce good working practice. Implement and manage preventative maintenance plans for plant equipment. Ensure the highest health and safety standards. Supervise toolroom apprentices and liaise with external training providers. Manage precision tooling projects from first conception to try-out, commissioning, and hand over to production Promote cross communication between departments Have a proactive nature and a can-do attitude towards our goals. Requirements: Minimum of 15 years of hands-on toolroom experience. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervisory role. Tool design experience would be highly welcomed Proficient in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks. Competent in tooling fault finding, modifying, and Maintaining A background in fine punch tooling, or similar would be advantageous Strong leadership and process optimization skills. Commitment to mentoring and developing apprentices. Fluent in Microsoft office products. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
