Senior Civil Engineering Technician

Location: Hampshire

Salary: 35k - 45k dependent on experience

Emtech are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Technician to join and established design team. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in delivering high-quality technical drawings and supporting engineers across a broad range of civil engineering projects, with a particular focus on residential and infrastructure developments.



Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a technician role.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD (essential).

  • Proven experience in the design and delivery of highways (including S278/S38) and drainage schemes for residential developments.

  • Experience working collaboratively with local authorities, developers, and architects on civil engineering aspects of residential, commercial, and care/retirement schemes.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Proactive and accountable approach to work.



Desirable Requirements

  • Experience on large-scale, multi-phase developments.

  • Proficiency in Site3D, Civil 3D, or PDS.

  • Experience supporting projects throughout all stages, from planning through to working drawings.



Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain high-quality design drawings in accordance with project and client requirements.

  • Produce construction details and bespoke design solutions based on engineer input and sketches.

  • Support civil engineers in the production of technical drawings for drainage systems, highway layouts, and S278/S38 schemes.

  • Undertake quality assurance checks on drawings produced within the team.

  • Ensure adherence to CAD standards across all outputs.

  • Manage and maintain large-scale drawings, including combined topographical surveys and title plan compilations.

  • Develop and maintain construction detail databases, key/legend templates, and standard resources.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including developers, architects, and local authorities.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).

  • Support regional offices and departments through knowledge sharing and technical collaboration.
