Summary of the Technical Fitter role Salary: £14 - £16 per hour Location: Bedford Type of Contract: Ongoing Temporary Hours: 40 hours Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm Responsibilities of the Technical Fitter Measuring, cutting, and assembling metal components into high-quality subassemblies and final units. Carrying out drilling, grinding, and finishing work to ensure precise fits. Inspecting completed assemblies to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. Using fasteners and fixings (bolts, rivets, screws) to secure and align components. Reading and interpreting technical drawings to plan and carry out fitting tasks. Requirements for a successful Technical Fitter Proven experience in fitting, fabrication, or mechanical assembly. Ability to read and work from technical/engineering drawings. Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment. Practical, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work. Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks. Health & Safety conscious with good organisational skills.
