Thrive Oldham are recruiting for a Multi-Trade Operative (Non-Electrical) Grade 6
It will be mainly multi trade damp works and it will involve core drilling and plastering.
To carry out quality, customer focused repairs, adaptations and refurbishment work to Leicester City Council properties and other buildings.
Full time, 37 hours per week
Rate of pay 16.91 - 18.16 per hour
Key Job Activities:
Undertakes a variety of multi-trade work and advanced repairs & refurbishment tasks of a core trade (the type of multi-trade tasks expected are shown in the indicative task list in the annex to the job description) to the agreed quality and performance standards
Undertakes assessments and makes decisions to complete multi trade repair and refurbishment work required; aiming to achieve 'right first time' service to all customers
Determines and arranges appropriate and value for money resources required to complete repairs & refurbishment and remove any waste.
Liaises with service customers before, during and after repair & refurbishment work, to ensure least possible inconvenience, including agreeing suitable appointments
Actively manages a wide range of stock of parts and equipment on vehicles to ensure the most efficient completion of work.
Works with colleagues and others to resolve or notify of issues arising e.g., regarding outstanding repairs, rechargeable items, breaches of tenancy conditions, safeguarding and Health
Ensures all work is carried out in the most efficient and effective manner e.g., by adopting new technology and equipment or organising appointments to reduce mileage.
Work in accordance with manufacturers installation, servicing and commissioning instructions, relevant procedures, and codes of practice
If allocated a vehicle or equipment or plant, be responsible and accountable at all times, including adhering to the current vehicle agreement
Ensures accurate and timely completion of all documentation / records requested
Experience:
Experience of carrying out multi-trade tasks
Experience of working in occupied domestic properties and dealing with residents, including vulnerable people and/or working on refurbishment projects in empty properties.
Experience of working to building industry and health and safety regulations
Full UK Driving Licence.
Qualified to NVQ level 2 or detailed knowledge and relevant experience in a relevant trade such as of plumbing, carpentry or plastering.
Practical knowledge of building industry regulations and health & safety.
Knowledge:
Knowledge in the use of the appropriate trade tools and methods and how to apply these in a safe way.
Able to keep up to date with legislation/ guidelines/ new/ best techniques/ technology as they change or study for/ obtain/ train for further skills and qualifications needed for the role.
