Multi-Skilled Fitter - Mechanical & Electrical

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Fitter with both mechanical and electrical expertise to strengthen our engineering team. This role involves assembling, installing, and maintaining complex automation systems-ensuring high-quality execution and seamless integration across mechanical and electrical domains.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Assembly & Installation
o Build and assemble machinery such as conveyors, case/box/tray erectors, palletisers, and handling systems.
o Fit mechanical components: gearboxes, bearings, drive systems, structural frames.
Electrical Wiring & Integration
o Wire and connect control panels, motors, sensors, actuators, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
o Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and proper cable routing.
Commissioning & Testing
o Execute mechanical and electrical commissioning of automated systems.
o Perform functional testing, alignment checks, issue diagnostics, and handover.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
o Conduct planned maintenance and breakdown repairs.
o Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, implement corrective actions.
Documentation & Collaboration
o Complete installation and service reports, wiring diagrams, and checklists.
o Coordinate with design, control systems, robotics, and customer support teams.
Health & Safety Compliance
o Follow strict health, safety, and quality procedures in workshop and site environments.
o Engage in risk assessments and learnings to improve safety protocols.
Candidate Profile:
Skills & Experience:
o Qualified fitter or equivalent with proven mechanical and electrical hands-on experience.
o Competency in reading engineering drawings, electrical schematics (PLC, motor, sensor circuits), and mechanical blueprints.
o Skilled in fitting mechanical systems and wiring electronics/instrumentation.
