Job Description

Class 2 HGV Tipper Driver / Aggregate Driver who has experience driving tippers with excellent timekeeping and organisational skills is required for a family-run business known for its professional and personalised approach within the plant machinery, small tool hire, ground works and building supplies industry.

SALARY: £13.00 per Hour

LOCATION: Ashley, Cheshire, North West England

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 5am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

This is a vital part of the company's operation and as a Class 2 HGV Tipper Driver / Aggregate Driver you will play a key role in the supply of essential building materials.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Class 2 HGV Tipper Driver / Aggregate Driver include:

  • Vehicle Checks: Conduct thorough pre and post vehicle inspections, including checking fuel, oil, tyres, and lights, to ensure the tipper lorry is roadworthy and safe for operation
  • Loading and Unloading: Safely and efficiently operate the tipper mechanism to load and unload bulk materials, such as aggregates and earth, at designated quarry and delivery sites
  • Safe Transportation: Transport materials from the quarry to various construction sites and depots, adhering strictly to all HGV driving regulations, road traffic laws, and company safety policies
  • Documentation and Administration: Complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery notes and job sheets, accurately and on time. Maintain digital records where required
  • Site Compliance: Follow all on-site health and safety rules and procedures at both loading and delivery locations. This includes wearing appropriate PPE and participating in site-specific inductions
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Keep the vehicle in a clean and tidy condition, reporting any mechanical defects or maintenance requirements to the transport manager promptly to minimise downtime
  • Customer Service: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanour when interacting with site managers, customers, and the general public
  • Time Management: Manage your time effectively to ensure that deliveries are completed on schedule while remaining compliant with all working hour regulations.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Driving Experience: You must have proven experience as an HGV Tipper Driver, demonstrating safe and effective operation of commercial vehicles. A clean Class 2 HGV licence is essential
  • Professional Conduct: We are looking for a highly professional and punctual individual with excellent communication skills. You must be a customer-friendly and presentable representative of the company, capable of adapting to various site environments
  • Safety & Compliance: A strong commitment to health and safety is crucial. You must possess a valid MPQC card and a good awareness of safe driving practices and site procedures
  • Vehicle Management: You will be responsible for maintaining the vehicle to a high standard. This includes excellent timekeeping and ensuring the tipper is kept clean and in good working order
