Job Description

Stix & Stones is one of Belfast's busiest and most vibrant restaurants, famous for our unique _steak on the stone_ dining experience. We're now looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to take the reins of our kitchen.

You'll lead a talented team, oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, and ensure the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and safety.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production.
Develop and implement menus that reflect current culinary trends while meeting customer preferences.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene in the kitchen.
Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring that dishes are prepared to the highest quality.
Manage inventory and order supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Train and mentor kitchen staff, promoting professional development and teamwork.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Monitor kitchen performance and implement improvements where necessary.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Excellent culinary skills with a passion for food preparation and presentation.
Ability to manage a diverse team effectively, fostering collaboration and communication.
Experience in menu planning and cost control within a restaurant setting.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
A creative approach to cooking with an understanding of current culinary trends.
