We are looking for individuals that have proven experience in providing excellent service with a genuine desire to help customers, to come and join our expanding Parking Customer Services team as a Parking Customer Service Advisor.
We are committed to providing a consistently high standard of service experience for our customers, and to achieve this have implemented a new team structure that places the customer at the forefront of all that we do.
Your role will be to help customers with their Parking Permit enquiries received by telephone or email, ensuring that they are resolved to the customer's satisfaction, as well as ensuring customers' orders are fulfilled swiftly. You'll need to be a real people person, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, working to high levels of accuracy as you provide each customer with a seamless and positive experience.
You will also be confident in using IT and be capable of helping customers to self-serve online.
Other duties for this role holder include the administration duties of parking permits and cycle hangers to meet customer demand. Previous experience of working in this area or in local government is not essential, but experience of working in a customer facing role is.
The team prides itself on continually improving processes and procedures to maximise customer satisfaction and efficiency. As part of this team you will be required to collaborate with different service areas to ensure the customer journey is the best it can possibly be for every one of our customers.
Hackney Council's Parking Services are recognised as the one of the UK's leading local authorities on the implementation, management and enforcement of effective parking controls across the borough.
The Services' role has been integral to Rebuilding a Greener Hackney with the successful ongoing implementation of traffic schemes such as school streets, low traffic neighbourhoods and bus gates across the borough to reduce car journeys; improving safety and reducing air pollution. The Service also works in close collaboration with other Public Realm Services to deliver initiatives such as Car Clubs, cycle hangars; and the work now beginning to roll out future Electric Vehicle Charging Points to support the move away from diesel- and petrol-powered vehicles and achieve the 2030 net-zero carbon objectives.
• Experience of handling customer enquiries and resolving complaints at the first point of contact
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient computer skills are essential
• Basic numeracy (e.g. GCSE Maths equivalent Grade C or above)
• Able to take responsibility for your own contribution and that of the team
• Innovative mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving and making processes more efficient.
• Strong organisational and time management skills
