Job Description

An experienced Estates Operations Manager is required to manage a great team of Cleaning Operatives and Caretaker within multiple prestigious estates in Wakefield. You will oversee the daily operations and ensure that areas of maintenance, security, compliance, and cleaning services are managed to the highest standards.

Sayjo Recruitment Ltd are recruiting on behalf of our client for this permanent and full-time role. The role will require a DBS (Disclosure and Barring service) as this is working within an educational company.

Duties will include:

  • Manage daily operations and maintenance across numerous premises
  • Manage caretaking, cleaning, grounds, and joinery teams ensuring safety, compliance and standards are met, along with training, development, and day to day management
  • Maintain statutory compliance and safety systems, including fire and legionella
  • Run the Estates Helpdesk and maintain accurate records
  • Manage contractors and support small-scale projects
  • Oversee budgets and procurement within assigned areas

We are looking for:

  • At least 2 years of experience in facilities or estates management
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Sound understanding of H&S, fire safety, and maintenance planning
  • IOSH/NEBOSH or FM-related qualifications (desirable)
  • Experience in education or similar sectors (preferred)
