ABC Teachers are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic secondary school environment, providing academic and pastoral support to students across a range of subjects and year groups.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to help students reach their full potential both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, including those with additional needs.
- Assist in the delivery of learning activities and adapt materials to support individual learning styles.
- Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a safe, respectful classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to assess student progress and provide feedback.
- Support students in developing their confidence, independence, and self-esteem.
- Carry out administrative and organisational tasks related to classroom support as needed.
Essential Requirements:
- A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools).
- Experience working with secondary-aged students in an educational setting.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them succeed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- A good level of literacy and numeracy.
Desirable:
- Experience supporting students with SEND or behavioural needs.
- Training in safeguarding, first aid, or other relevant areas.
