Job Description

Payroll & CIS Administrator
Fareham, Hampshire
Full-time, Permanent
Salary: c. £30,000 (dependent on experience)

We're partnering with a successful, growing business in Fareham to hire a Payroll & CIS Administrator. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, down-to-earth team where your initiative will be valued, your work will be varied, and there's real scope to grow with the company.

What you'll be doing

  • Running end-to-end weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for a wide variety of clients.
  • Handling auto-enrolment and workplace pensions, ensuring compliance with RTI and HMRC deadlines.
  • Processing monthly CIS returns, verifying subcontractors and making sure everyone gets paid correctly and on time.
  • Liaising with clients and subcontractors - answering queries with confidence and professionalism.
  • Generating invoices, keeping accurate records and supporting the management team with day-to-day operations.
  • Switching between payroll and contracting work depending on the month - from steady payrolls to busy Thursdays making sure hundreds of subcontractors get paid.

What we're looking for

Essential:

  • Solid payroll experience (end-to-end, RTI, pensions) and ideally a good knowledge of CIS and HMRC compliance.
  • A sharp eye for detail and the ability to problem-solve when things don't look right.
  • Someone proactive, organised and "one step ahead" - you don't wait to be told what to do, you spot it and get it done.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable on the phone with clients, subcontractors and colleagues.
  • The ability to work under pressure when deadlines hit (year-end, Christmas, monthly CIS deadlines).

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Moneysoft Payroll software, subcontractor verification or invoice processing.

What's on offer

  • Full training on specialist contracting processes and systems.
  • A supportive, approachable manager who believes in encouragement, feedback and making work enjoyable.
  • The chance to grow - whether you want to specialise, take on more responsibility, or eventually manage your own portfolio.
  • A collaborative, lively office environment where the team works hard but has a laugh along the way. This is an office-based role in Fareham.

If you're looking for more than "just another payroll job" and want to join a company that's scaling up with you at the heart of it, we'd love to hear from you.
