We are currently recruiting Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistants with strong SEN experience to support a range of mainstream Primary schools across North Birmingham. These roles are ideal for individuals passionate about inclusive education and confident in supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) including ASC, ADHD, EAL, Behavioural Support and complex learning needs
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum
- Assisting with personal care where required
- Using Makaton or other communication strategies to support non-verbal pupils
- Collaborating with teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored learning plans
Essential Requirements:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Proven experience working with children withSEN, particularly in primary or specialist settings
- Knowledge or training in: Makaton or other communication aids
- Personal care and hygiene support
- EAL (English as an Additional Language)
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ADHD
- A nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting children's development
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
