A little bit about your role: Producing and checking Engineering deliverables and developing engineering solutions including Design Calculations, Reports, Presentations and Drawings associated with the design of underground structures e.g, tunnels and shafts Work as part of a diverse team of engineers, scientists and modellers from conceptual design through to detailed design and engineering for construction Carry out engineering analysis and design using both simple and numerical models from either first principles or to codified processes Develop and maintain good relationships with both new and existing clients Conduct ad-hoc engineering research and development tasks to support innovative engineering solutions. Assist project managers in the successful delivery of projects by managing own involvement in projects, including time, budget and quality control Occasional project-based travel and site work, working away both in the UK and overseas; the frequency and duration of this will depend on business and client needs Carry out business development activities including preparation of technical proposals Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to other team members Working in a collaborative way, supporting intermediate and senior staff, to achieve project goals Display a 'safety first' attitude in line with an interdependent health and safety culture, promoting a positive health and safety attitude Reporting into the Mining Business structure, the primary focus for the Senior Design Engineer within the Underground Structures Team includes project delivery and direction, provision of technical expertise in engineering design, business development, understanding and maintaining our existing key client relationships, training and mentoring of junior staff and active development of new client relationships and opportunities in line with our strategy. This role is predominantly within the mining business, with the potential to also work with other sectors, including global infrastructure. As a team we are responsible for the design of undergrounds structures associated with mining projects, civils and utilities schemes, transport tunnels/structures as well as general ground support solutions. Project Manager: Shell & Core - West London Are you a highly experienced Project Manager with a strong Civil Engineering background? A fantastic opportunity has arisen to lead the shell and core package on a new build residential scheme in West London. We're looking for a dedicated professional with 10+ years of experience managing large-scale construction projects. You'll be responsible for the successful delivery of the project's structural frame, external envelope, and all associated primary services infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Leading all on-site personnel and subcontractors, providing clear direction and ensuring optimal performance. Managing the project budget and schedule, ensuring all shell and core works are completed on time and within budget. We are hiring a Senior Cladding Designer to join a growing design team in Liverpool. This permanent position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of cladding projects with occasional travel to London for design meetings (expenses paid). About the Role As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for all commercial and financial aspects of our subcontracted works on the water treatment site. You'll work closely with the project management and site teams to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget. Your key responsibilities will include: Cost Management: Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost reports. Track project costs against the budget and provide regular updates to senior management. Contract Administration: Administer our subcontract, ensuring all contractual obligations are met. Prepare and submit valuations, payment applications, and variations (compensation events). Risk Management: Identify and assess commercial risks and opportunities. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks. Procurement: Assist in the procurement of materials and subcontractors, ensuring value for money and compliance with project specifications. Dispute Resolution: Handle and resolve commercial disputes and claims in a timely and professional manner. Requirements We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in quantity surveying, ideally within the civil engineering, water, or utilities sectors. Experience: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a track record of successfully managing projects. Experience on a water treatment or similar civils project is a big plus. Qualifications: A degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. Skills: Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts, excellent negotiation skills, and a solid understanding of construction processes. You should be proficient in relevant software like Microsoft Excel. Mindset: You must be a strong communicator, able to build relationships with clients, suppliers, and our internal teams.
