It is based in a centre specifically designed to be a safe and welcoming environment for survivors and includes gardens and growing facilities. About the role This is a wide-ranging position, and your key areas of responsibility will include: To work with the Adult Team Manager and Heads of Clinical Services to implement FFT s strategic goals. It will involve providing line management to paid staff and volunteers from different professions and disciplines and provide professional and clinical supervision to qualified clinicians and trainees in the service including, clinical/counselling psychologists. This role may also include providing remote clinical supervision to clinicians in our other regional centres (North West England and Scotland). To ensure that Freedom from Torture's clinical model continues to be fully rolled out, with particular emphasis on survivor empowerment and evidence-based practice for addressing PTSD and other mental health impacts of torture. Championing people development as well as influence delivery of evidenced -based practice, clinical standards, quality initiatives and audit-based services. To formulate and negotiate psychological treatment and management plans for referred clients and to provide psychological treatment, using a range of specialist psychological interventions appropriate to the service in line with the new clinical model Pathways (drawing on a range of evidence-based models for the presenting problems of the clients). Being an effective role model and leader to encourage, develop and enhance skills of others. About you This is an important role within Freedom from Torture. To be successful in this role you must have a high level of commitment to maintaining excellent standards of client care and service delivery. It is a key requirement that you must have knowledge of appropriate clinical standards and external regulatory bodies. You must also have sound financial awareness and experience of balancing the provision of quality care against budgetary parameters. To be considered for this role you must be a Psychologist registered with HCPC and have qualified with a doctorate or equivalent in either clinical or counselling psychology. You must have professional experience of working with clients with complex PTSD and have post-qualification experience of using evidence-based trauma focused therapy models. It is essential that you have a clear understanding of the experience of refugees and people seeking asylum, both in terms of pre-flight experience and the experience of living in exile. You must have previous management and supervision experience and be able to provide demonstrable examples of how you have successfully led and influenced clinical teams within community or health care settings. In return, we offer a competitive package, with a generous 30-day annual leave entitlement, and 6% employer pension contribution. We also offer access to additional therapy training including NET and EMDR, access to high quality clinical supervision and an opportunity to hold a small case load alongside your management practice. This therapeutic PACE led organisation is currently in a growth phase! They already operate two, Ofsted registered children s homes, which are both rated Good with Ofsted and have acquired two new properties in the Solihull and Acocks Green areas. They boast strong leadership with a clinical doctor at the helm of their practice and have been announced finalists of the National Children & Young People Awards for their incredible work this year. You will be responsible for registering a brand-new children s home according to your own specialism (LD or EBD you choose !) alongside an incredibly experienced and supportive Responsible Individual who has been in your shoes. You ll recruit for your own staff team with final say on personnel, and have full Head Office / Back Office support, and the use of ClearCare reporting software. You will pull from your extensive experience working in children s homes to manage and lead your passionate team to ensure smooth operation of the home, second-to-none delivery of care for young people, and Ofsted excellence. The Successful Registered Children s Home Manager Candidate Will Excel At: Running a children s home to Good or Outstanding standards, adhering to Ofsted s Children s Home Act (2015), Quality Standards, and Safeguarding Procedures Managing a staff team, completing supervisions and appraisals, and ensuring trainings are completed in line with Quality Standards Developing and reviewing Ofsted required paperwork such as care plans, behaviour support plans, risk assessments, and regulated Reg reports & attending and engaging in LAC, EHCP, PEP and Pathway Planning meetings and reviews. Communicating effectively with young people, colleagues, families, and external professionals. Conducting administrative tasks such as health and safety checks, medication audits, rotas, finances, and taking part in recruitment activities and inductions On-call responsibilities; ensuring the home has your expert advice in out-of-hour crises Requirements for the Registered Children s Home Manager role: Minimum of 2+ years experience leading a team specifically within a children s home environment Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) Full UK Manual Driving Licence and access to a vehicle An understanding of the SCCIF, Children s Home Act (2015), and Quality Standards, the ability to register as a manager with Ofsted, and pass a Fit Person s Interview A genuine passion for supporting the well-being and healthy development of young people, as well as for your staff team If you are keen to discuss the Registered Children s Home Manager vacancy further, have more questions, or this one isn t quite the right fit, please don t hesitate to reach out!
