Location: Hemel Hempstead Salary: 48,000 - 55,000 + benefits We are working with a leading distribution centre in Hemel Hempstead to recruit a dynamic and experienced Transport Manager . This is a pivotal leadership role, reporting directly to the General Manager, and responsible for overseeing a busy transport operation with a fleet of Class 1 and Class 2 vehicles. Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop a team of Managers, Drivers, Trainers, and Admin staff. Ensure full legal compliance with DVSA standards and internal audit requirements. Drive performance across cost, service, and people KPIs. Manage budgets, control costs (including fuel, maintenance, and agency usage), and maximise revenue. Deliver on-time performance and maintain strong communication across departments and with external stakeholders. Foster a positive, inclusive team culture with a focus on colleague engagement and succession planning. Requirements: Valid Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) . Proven experience in transport operations management within a fast-paced, customer centric distribution environment. Strong leadership, communication, and performance management skills. Ability to influence and support a diverse team while maintaining compliance and operational excellence.
