About the Role The Powertrain Metrology Laboratory plays a key role within Powertrain Build and Test Operations (EO-10), delivering high-quality measurement data and technical support to projects across the organisation. As a Metrologist , you will join a highly skilled team dedicated to delivering precise measurement services for a wide variety of automotive components. Metrologist Powertrain Metrology Laboratory Location: Coventry Hours: 40 hours per week Contract: 6 month Contract Salary/Rate: £25.00 (Outside IR35) Key Responsibilities Perform precision measurement of a wide range of automotive components using portable metrology equipment (e.g., Romer Arm, Faro, GOM). Generate accurate, detailed measurement reports and data outputs for engineering and quality teams. Work in line with defined processes to ensure consistency and quality. Provide technical support and consultation to internal customers. Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and equipment care in line with company policy. Champion collaborative working, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the team. What You ll Need Essential Skills & Experience Strong knowledge of metrology principles and measurement equipment. Experience with portable metrology systems (ideally Romer Arm with scanning and probing, GOM, or Faro). Proficiency in Polyworks or similar metrology software. Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings (GD&T). Computer literate with strong attention to detail and a focus on quality. Effective communication skills both verbal and written. Awareness of Health & Safety and environmental practices (Risk Assessment, COSHH). Experience with 5S principles and basic equipment maintenance. Positive, flexible attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Desirable Skills & Experience CMM programming experience using Quindos, PC-DMIS, or Calypso. Exposure to product development environments. Knowledge of Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA).
